Sooo...it's been a year....now what?

So I've officially been in Vancouver a year now. It's September 24th and this day last year Christine and I did the AIDS Walk for Life around Stanley Park. We decided to do it again this year to help raise money and awareness about HIV/AIDS and to mark my year of being here. Thanks to all who donated!

Almost an even bigger thank you to everyone that has made me being here for a year possible. I couldn't have done it without all of you and I'm proud to say I've done it. I'm not sure where I'll go from here, but I do know I love living in this city by the sea.

C-spot, my roomie and best friend...wouldn't have been able to do it without you, lady. We've made this little apartment a home and I love it. It's beautiful and I can't imagine having done it with anyone else at this point. We have our moments, but in the end we've done it, babe. Our shoes are by the door and our coats are in the closet. This is our home and we're living life. Thanks.

To my family...my parents, brother, sister-in-law and though I'm sure he doesn't know it, my little nephew. Your love and support has helped me get through being so far away and I couldn't have done it without your help. I miss you all so much and I don't know how I will stay living so far away, but I do know this is the place for me right now. Come visit soon. And to my Uncle and Corey...I wouldn't have been so quick to move out here if it weren't for you guys. Thanks for being here for me and supporting me when I need it!

Beth, Heather, Cathy, Michael, Rob, and Eric...my adopted family...you've given me so much and I would not have been able to stay here without your help. You've helped us move, decorate, stay sane and make this place a home. You've given me a bed to sleep in, fed me pumpkin pie, made me laugh and made it possible for me to feel at home here and I can't thank you all enough for that.

And last but most certainly not least in any way, shape or form....to my unbelieveable friends who I've met out here. You've made this life out here worth living. Katie, Amy....you are my sisters and I love you. I don't know where I'd be without you. I couldn't even start to list all the amazing times we've had together. Thanks for being my friends.

Katya, Sarah, Mat, Ella, Mike, Farshid, Rob, Dave, Duane, Aaron, Virginia....Doyle (hehe)...and everyone I've met out here. I love you all and thanks for being there to laugh with me, cry with me, drink with me, entertain me and sometimes just be plain crazzzzzy with me. Thank you for showing me around this beautiful city and taking care of me. You guys are amazing.

To my new little creatures here...Rosie, Foster (the fallen Glenn) and our newest little addition, Molly. I love you my babies! You make me smile. And you'll make me smile even more if you are reading this, haha. To my goatee, Mavy, Cruise, Tigger, my kitty who has passed, Weasel, and Capri, Sam and all my babies back home. I miss you like crazy. Be good.

And now onwards and upwards. Another fall is upon us and the colors in this city are incredible! I will be taking more pictures about town again soon and I hope to post them. But here are few from today and a year ago today...

2005...

And 2006...

(with Laural and Kim)

And a few other sights from today...the gorgeous Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park that we walked around...

The swans in the pond and some turtles and ducks...

The view from the seawall...

Annnnd...possibly THE cutest puppy I've ever seen. Her name was Lucy, the 9 week old Bassett Hound, and she was a huge flirt...

And we got Foster a little friend!! Her name is Molly and she's a gold and white fantail. I didn't realize how huge Foster had gotten though! Molly looks half his size! I also bought them a new new fancy tank that has a nicer water pump, another plant and a cool light! Check it out...

Molly...

Foster enjoying their new tank...which has taken up residence beside Rosie. (Much to Rosie's disgust.)

And a picture of Rosie just because she's so cute...

Cheers!
